We aim to maximise ef?ciency and creativity with a design and production process that we have developed over the years. All aspects
of a project are monitored and managed to ensure that the progress of graphic design and software engineering is made as transparent as possible for our clients.
All projects follow the same logical steps:
• Speci?cation
• Design
• Implementation
• Deployment and Beta testing
• Re?nement – future
Understanding a client’s business and brand is vitally important. Ai develops close working
relationships with our clients and spends important time at this speci?cation stage analysing
your needs and suggesting solutions. Your needs are paramount so that together we can
develop a new media strategy.
The design, form and function are key issues. We will explore the features to be used and
de?ne which technologies will be the most appropriate. Important issues include target
audience, branding and usability. We will then draw up a ?ow chart speci?cation and
document, which of course may be amended at this speci?cation stage.
Once the speci?cation, step one, is agreed by all parties, the next stage is to design a
prototype. This area is where the visual GUI (graphical User Interface) is designed and
agreed. Software engineering, design and production combine to make the project tangible.
It also gives a solid foundation for the implementation phase.
At this stage clients will probably become more involved in the project as vital information
and copy is needed from them. The task now is to ?nalise the project, ?lling in all the
content and working closely with the client throughout. Time scales, which would have
been set up in the speci?cation phase are adhered to.
The end product is now the focus. Our task is to make it robust, ?nalise all graphics and ?ne
tune the design. Beta testing takes place at this stage, vitally important for all projects but
particularly a Cd-ROM or DVD. Any bugs are ?xed prior to the products release.
Once release, the product is monitored and future developments and possibilities are
discussed. If appropriate we also train client’s staff to maintain and develop the product.
